Adrienne Houghton’s Closet Tour | All Things Adrienne

Hey, everyone. Spring is here so spring style is in full effect. One of my favorite transitional pieces is a good ol’ white button-down shirt. They’re super versatile so guess what?I’m gonna show you five different ways to wear a white button-down shirt. (upbeat music)So, my first look is a white button-down shirt with a spring blazer. I absolutely love this. It’s from Zara. Affordable, I love that. And I love that it’s floral. Flora’s for spring, groundbreaking. What movie is that from? Can you guess?Flora’s for spring, groundbreaking. Miranda Priestly, yeah. But I actually really do think that it is different. It’s got almost like a retro vibe to it. It gives me Miami feels. I love the colors in it and it does bring a spring vibe to the whole outfit. Another thing is stretchy jeans.

I love love love a great pair of comfortable jeans. Whatever your favorite jeans are,you can pair them with this and make it work. Last but not least,a good nude pump that’s transitional for all seasons. And I really love it with this because it actually elongates the entire look. I always love to mix high and low so the shirt is Banana Republic, the jeans are Fashion ova,and my shoes are Subroutine. (clicks tongue) See how I did that?I always think it’s worth spending money on things that you can wear for all seasons and that are gonna be staples in your closet forever that you’re actually gonna get a lot of use out of. I could go to church in this outfit,I could go to lunch in this outfit,I could go to grab drinks in this outfit. Other than the heels,I can pretty much do anything in this outfit. (laughs)So, for my second look,I’ve paired my white button-down shirt with this striped duster. It’s actually from Fashionista costs less than 20 bucks, crazy right?I’m just out here dusting in my duster.

So we paired it obviously with our white button-down shirt, our staple and I’ve got on mom jeans. They’ve come a long way people. Now I’m not gonna lie, when the mom jean trend came in,I thought, I have hips, I definitely can’t wear this,it’s a lie. You absolutely can and these are actually from H&M. Again, super affordable and we splurged on the accessories. These are Jimmy Shoo caged booties. But just an FYI, Steve Madden has something very very similar. Another piece that’s on trend is these straw bags that are coming back and I just broke out my hat from last summer. This is Vanessa Leon. I thought it was super big. It was very Harrell at first. When I put it on, I was like, am I doing too much? And then I was like, darling, never. You literally can’t tell me that I’m not in Monaco in this outfit. Where am I going?I don’t know. Beverly Hills, Polo Lounge, order me a drink, assay. Like, I just literally feel like I’m going somewhere really dope but again, most of my pieces are super inexpensive, like I’m obsessed with this duster. It’s lightweight, it’s easy, breezy, and it can go with so many pieces. This is for the Instagram gods.

For my third look,I’ve paired the white button-down shirt with overalls. Now I’ve had these overalls for years and was like, what am I gonna wear this with? And then, ding ding ding, the light went off in my head and I’m like, that could be really cute. And it also creates a studious look which I never would have thought. This to me is like sexy nerd moment. Overalls, they’re actually super duper comfortable. And I love the idea of actually rolling them up a bit. I’m really loving statement glasses right now. And I’m totally into it. You actually can go to like Urban Outfitters,Forever 21, H&M, a lot of them sell fake glasses. These are real because I actually can’t see. I wear contacts all the time. So it definitely comes in handy when you can wears statement glass that actually pulls your whole outfit together and you can see. The purse is SLY, definitely a splurge. It’s part of my collection. It’s a cute little crossover purse but you can pair any little crossover nude purse with it and the shoes are Top shop.

Not only are they super cute and stroppy for spring but they’re super comfortable and that’s always important. Gotta love a good comfy shoe. For my next outfit, I paired my white button-down shirt with a fitted vest, tailored. Tailored, fitted, same thing people. I love this vest because it’s actually super transitional as well. I wore this so much during the winter and it’s actually by DVF but I’ve seen so many of them just like it at H&M, Forever 21, it’s a super easy find. And I actually paired it with Good American jeans. They’ve got a bit of stretch in them, they’re super comfortable. I love the wash because it brings the spring into it. They’ve got tears in them and again, I love rolling them up. So that you can wear a cute, peekaboo booties. These are from Top shop, super comfy.

Now some people may think that a white button-down shirt can actually make you look super boxy and just like you don’t have any definition in your body but when you pair it with something like this,a tailored vest, it actually cinches your waist in. Now I love that for the accessories we went high-end low-end. My sunglasses, which I love because they’re super retro. Ha ha, yes, come through cat wing. I actually got these from Urban Outfitters and they were 14 bucks. This is my low end. My high end is actually a gift from my husband. It’s like a little cigarette purse and it’s from Yves Saint Laurent. But again, you can use any cute little cross body bag to finish off this look.

I feel super comfortable yet super chic in this outfit. So for my last look, I decided to show a little leg by pairing my white button-down shirt with a denim skirt. A denim skirt is definitely a great staple for spring. It’s like perfect,it goes with everything and it’s a great option to wearing jeans. One of the things I love about this denim skirt,it’s actually by Good American and for some of us that are like, ugh, I got cellulite in the back of my thighs, boom,it’s actually a little longer in the back. Love that. I feel very London Town in this outfit. I don’t know if it’s the hat, or the boots, which I actually got in London for less than like 200 bucks. Self ridges.

And it is available on their website, I checked for you. I’ve been wearing these booties with everything. They’re super comfortable, I know they don’t look it. I love that again, they’re perfectly transitional from winter to spring. So yeah, a white button-down shirt and a denim skirt can be super simple so this all about the accessories. Obsessed with this hat, love that it came back into style, and I actually got this at Strongroom and it’s by Brighton. This little purse, super cheap but super cute, got it at Urban Outfitters, and like I said, the boots were made for walking and they are taking me to London Town. So, there you have it. One classic white button-down shirt, five different ways. I can’t wait to hear what you guys wear with your white button-down shirts, how you rock it.
